Safetey at Ariana

Safety at Ariana Ariana Afghan Airlines was founded in 1955 as a national flag carrier of Afghanistan. In 1955 it obtained the membership of International Air Transport Associations. In 1956 Pan American, one of the trunk airlines of the United States of America, with 51% Afghan Government and 49% Pan American became the shareholder of Ariana Afghan Airlines.

Pan American associated all of its efforts towards enhancing the airline's capabilities in safe, economic and efficient operation. The operation and maintenance of Ariana fleet were to FAA standard. Ariana staff have been trained in the United States to the high level of proficiency. Ariana was operating to the region as well as east and west Europe with good operation standard to ICAO and IATA requirements. Although Pan American withdraws its membership from Ariana Afghan Airlines the airlines kept and continued its standard of safety and efficiency.

At present Ariana posses four Boeing 727-200 and three Airbus 300B4 which are in good are reliable condition. The facts and evidenced are as follows:

  • The flight crew are being trained in Jordan Simulator Training Facilities. 13 cockpit crews have just completed their simulator training of B-727 in Amman, Jordan.
  • Under separate technical support agreement between Ariana and Jordan Aircraft Maintenance Company our Boeing 727 aircraft are undergoing C-Check at their maintenance base in Amman. Spare parts and component including engines are being repaired in Amman.
  • Our aircrafts equipped with GPS, FMS, TACAS, II, GPWS and other necessary communication and navigation facilities.
  • Ariana flight crews, maintenance personnel and flight dispatchers are licensed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.
  • The aircrafts are insured under Hull All Risks, Hull War Risks, Airlines Liabilities and Third Party Liabilities and Deductible as well as flight crew accident insurance policies with AON Limited Aviation and Tourism.
  • Provision and installation of "C" Check tools, equipments at Ariana Maintenance Base at Kabul Airport for the purpose of upgrading the maintenance capabilities to the level of B-727 "C" check at FAA standard is under process.
  • All our captains have at least 10,000 hours experience.
  • We have regular ground school for our crew.
  • All Cockpit crew attended cockpit management course recently.
